About The Art:

Black Bottom was a predominantly Black neighborhood in Detroit, Michigan demolished for redevelopment in the late 1950s to early 1960s and replaced with the Lafayette residential district and a freeway. It was located on Detroit's near east side. Paradise Valley was the business district and entertainment center of the residential area of Black Bottom.
